On Wednesday, 13th May 2026, the African Students For Interfaith Tolerance (ASFIT), in collaboration with Brave Aurora and the Northern Innovation Lab Foundation, successfully hosted the 5th Ghana Interfaith Solidarity March in Walewale under the theme “One People, Many Beliefs: Protecting Religious Freedom for All.”
The march brought together over 150 religious and traditional leaders, civil society actors and community members to stand against religious hatred, challenge the politicization of ethnic identities and call for an end to violence.
Starting from the Assemblies of God Church, Walewale and ending at the Walewale New Market (Dapaalani), the event featured a vibrant street march, a public lecture and an interactive Q&A session. Participants shared commitments to foster inclusive relationships across religious divides and strengthen social cohesion.
Building on the success of the previous four editions, this year’s march reaffirmed Ghana’s collective resolve to protect Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) and promote peace through dialogue, tolerance and solidarity.
The event concluded with renewed energy and unity, leaving participants inspired to continue advocating for peaceful coexistence in their communities.
